Message from the New Chairman
Latest News
To all Lighthouse Members and Friends,
I am proud and privileged to have been elected as Chairman of the Manila Lighthouse Club for 2007, and firstly I wish all of you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
We are starting 2007 with a Board which is very enthusiastic, and with lots of fresh new ideas for the Club, together with a commitment to assist as much as possible worthy charitable projects in the Philippines.
Two prominent items on our agenda for 2007 will be the Tondo School Project, and the furtherance of a close association with the Dubai Lighthouse Club.
The Tondo project was outlined at our Annual Ball last October, and we will be looking to our members to help in any way they can to bring this to fruition. You will find more information in our website, and we will continually update members on the progress during the year. It is a wonderful project, and most worthy of your support.
Last year we were asked by the Dubai Lighthouse Club to assist them with their formal incorporation, mainly through the connections of ex Manila members now working in Dubai, and the Board has agreed to do this, which will result in closer ties between the 2 clubs, and hopefully generate mutual benefits.
The Board has already come up with new ideas to freshen up the Get-together evenings, and we will try to turn these into enjoyable and interesting networking events.
Also we will be developing our new website, and encourage you to visit it and contribute as it progresses.
Lastly, following on the great success of our Annual Ball last year, we have decided to keep the same venue and format, which was a great success, and have already firmed up Saturday 20th October as our date for this year, so get that into your diaries now.
So, I am looking forward to an exciting and challenging 2007, and hope to have all of your support in taking the Club forward this year.
With best wishes,
Stewart Breakenridge
Chairman
