March 2008 | Merry Night at Murphy's
Murphy’s Makati hosted the Lighthouse Club Manila’s get together for March.
Murphy’s, one of the LHC’s silver sponsors provided homely ambiance, delicious buffet and cold beers. Guests and members enjoyed the delectable buffet consisting of Crudite, Greek salad, roast lamb in mini pitas, sausage in puff pastry, spring rolls, mushrooms stuffed with blue cheese, deviled eggs and Murphy’s famous cheese cake.
Forth and Tay complemented the buffet with their superb wines.
Murphy’s General Manager, Melody, livened the night more by donating basket of beers and limited edition Murphy’s T-shirt. Danny Connally, headed the auction of exciting items. The proceeds will financially assist students of Erda Tech Foundation who are taking construction related courses. Tony Sutton and Camilla Brooks (Crown Relocation) brought home the items. Guests were touched by the Club’s charity drive that one couple donated cash outright.
The most awaited part of the evening is the revelation of the winning team in football card. This has been running for three months and finally the name boxes have completely filled up. Everyone was excited at Php 4,000.00 at stake.
Danny scratched the card and voila! Danny’s team (Doncaster) won. Everyone cheered when Danny announced that he will be donating his winnings to charity.
In the said event, the Club was able to gather Php 6,800.00. This will reflect in the lighthouse tower replica meterage, aimed to gather funds for Erda Tech students.
In Danny’s hoarse voice, he invited everyone to the next LHC get together at the Manila Club on April 17 to meet the Erda Tech students supported by the Club.
