Event Recaps

LIGHTHOUSE CLUB tried something different this time. We mean the food and the venue. Instead of the usual European/ Western menus, the Club let Curry spiced the night. Woodman’s head provided tasty curry and lots more at the buffet table. Aside from the steaming hot menu, the night became more festive because of the wines courtesy of Forth and Tay, one of the Gold Sponsors of the Club.

Aside from a good chat with colleagues and friends in the industry, with a cold beer or drink on hand, Get-Togethers aim to raise funds for charity projects of LHC. Income from this would go straight to the Club’s charity fund for the ErdaTech students which the club has been helping for quite a while.

That night, raffle tickets were sold at a very reasonable price. Prizes that were given away include a microwave oven, a coffee-maker, a rice cooker and two bottles of wine from the good-hearted Forth and Tay which was represented by Ms. Jocelyn San Juan. Though the prizes weren’t that much, members still tried their luck and were so excited when the drawing of the winning tickets came.

The lucky winners were:

Microwave Oven – Mr. Vic Akillian of Forssman

Coffee Maker – Mr. Miguel Manzano who in his charitable heart donated the item back to the Club. Danny Connally auctioned the item and the proceeds also went straight to charity.

Rice Cooker – Ms. Melody Herber of Murphy’s Makati

Wines (2 bottles) – Mr. Colin Aitchison

Football card slots were also sold with a Php 4000 prize at stake for charity. Revelation of the winning team was postponed till next get together. With announcement from Danny that if the winning member would not make it, the winnings would be forfeited and would go straight to charity. And of course everyone cheered on agreement.

Moreover, some of the members renewed their membership for 2008.

The Club aims to increase its members and fun and worthy activities like these will surely help.
