NOVEMBER 7, HAVANA NIGHT…

“It was dubbed as the hottest party in town”. Havana Night was the chosen theme, it was a bold move and the Lighthouse Manila Club pulled it through as participants enjoyed, relaxed…had fun! Ladies and gents came in at Dusit Thani Manila on November 7, 2009 with their salsa outfit and were all in the mood for dancing. It was an honor to have the presence of His Excellency the British Ambassador Stephen and Madam Denise Lilley. Not only the LHCMB wanted to have a festive evening with great food, drinks, music and friends but also to achieve its main objective, CHARITY. The Lighthouse Club’s commitment continues – to send less privileged but deserving kids to school. Some of LHC scholars were invited to meet the members. Students could not find the words to thank everyone who have been very supportive. The British School Manila (BSM) students once again took part in selling the raffle tickets. They used their charm and wit to convince everyone to buy and buy more. ..well, who could have resisted with what at stakes… trip to Boracay (courtesy of RMDKwikform), 32” Aquos LCD TV, vouchers for weekend stay at Dusit Thani Manila, electronic items, and lots of gift certificates. Philip Leonard of International Student Advisors and Etihad Airways generously donated a Shangri-La vacation package and round trip ticket to UK for auction respectively. LHCMB would like to thank Etihad. PB, Jardine Schindler, Quest, Forssman, Moonlight Hotel, Forth and Tay, Murphy’s, Howzat Sports Bar, East Asian Art Gallery, Chittick Fire and Security, Rever for Hair, Big Apple Dive Resort, Manila Club, COJ Realty and Value Vision, events sponsors. Cuban as it was, as expected, tequila and margaritas got everyone on their feet dancing with Sabor Latino Band music. Murphy’s made sure that margaritas and other superb mixes never ran out. Tres Hijos serenaded and made everyone sung with their classic music. The Club raised Php210,000.00 ($4,565) for charity that night. Great night indeed!!!
