Lighting ERDA TECH Students' Way

Lighthouse Club Manila has been supporting students of ERDA TECH Foundation in the last eight years. It has been working hand-in-hand with ERDA TECH in bringing quality education and training to selected and deserving young people.

ERDA TECH's unique five-year high school program prepares these youth for the world of work through the Dual Training System that provides both in-school and in-company training. Students undergo about 5 months actual training, giving them the benefit of applying theories and hands-on experience in a work setting.

This school year, LIGHTHOUSE CLUB is sponsoring six (6) Fifth year high school students in various course-trainings related to the construction industry.

These young people are 16-17 year olds, eager to learn and face their new challenges in life, as they gear for job opportunities, or prepare for college courses, after high school.

Chosen from poor families with little or modest earnings, and coming from poor communities of Metro Manila, students in ERDA TECH are given the chance to have and to hope for a better life, away from poverty, by preparing them as responsible workers of value.

These are;

1. Lester M. Baaclo - 5th year, 16 years old, ELECTRICITY, in-plant trainee in PLDT in Pasay
2. Echeneo Bejerano Jr. - 5th year, 16 years old, ELECTRICITY, in-plant Trainee at JUST IN TIME LOGISTICS (general services company for signages, safety and protective equipment, metal works and computer graphics)
3. Jonathan Buagas - 5th year, 16 years old, ELECTRICITY, in plant trainee in PLDT in Pasay
4. Ken Larie de Vera - 5th year, 16year old, DRAFTING with CAD (currently on leave of absence, per doctor's order, will be accepted for re-enrolment upon medical clearance)
5. Bryan Carlo P. Pedroso — 5th year, 16 year old, Drafting with CAD, in-plant trainee at FORSSMAN PACIFIC
6. Kenneth M. Ternate — 5th year, 16 years old, ELECTRICITY, in-plant trainee at Pandacan Depot Services Inc.
