Container School in Tondo - Project Update
Charity
Lighthouse Club committed to help The Philippine Christian Foundation (PCF) to build the largest container building in the world that will serve as school for dumpsite children and their parents in Smokey Mountain. After tedious paper works, permits and all, the project finally started construction last January 2008 and aims to finish before end of the year.
PCF expressed its gratitude to Lighthouse Club Manila branch who has helped put together a team of experts who are providing all engineering, technical, site management and architectural advice, and their services are completely free of charge.
But this is not the end of it yet. In fact, the project has just started. As we are safe and warm reading this article, some kids are out in the rain picking garbage to have a meal for their families later
.
Some of them may not bother to look or at least care for the proposed school site. Some would take it as empty promise land, some would wish to have the promise a reality soon before it’s too late for them to even dream, hope and live.
Let’s send these kids to school now. Let us end their misery which they don’t deserve. Your support will give these children the reason to hope, to dream and to have a bright future. . . or brighter smiles for now! PCF needs everything that you can donate. From gravel, to glass and windows, to sinks, toilets, tiles etc .. etc…
PCF knocks on our hearts. They will need Php 30 million. We can send this noble deed to completion. Help PCF to make these wonderful children see that better days are around the corner.

Let us, The Lighthouse Club, make these container school vans their lighthouse of hope.
